Here is exactly what Tacq does and does not do with your data.
What we never ask for
No phone number, no email, no real name. Your account is an anonymous Master ID generated on your device. You can’t be found in search or scraped into a spam database.
Nothing to leak, pass on, or sell
Because we never collect a phone number, email or real name, there is simply nothing for anyone to hand to a stranger, steal, or sell to spammers and scammers. The most sensitive contact detail — your number — never enters the system in the first place.
How your messages are protected
Every message is encrypted on your device before it leaves — separately for each device of the person you are writing to. The server passes it along without being able to read it and deletes it, together with its photos and files, as soon as it has been delivered; a message that is never received is deleted automatically after 30 days. The conversation history is kept on your devices, not on the server. Group messages are encrypted the same way, for each device of each member. This is the “Encrypted” level, the default. For anything especially private, a one‑to‑one chat has one more level that you choose yourself: “Top secret” — the content never passes through the server at all: it waits on your device and goes straight to the other person when you are both online, to one of their devices only. At either level, the server works only with anonymous identifiers of the sender and the recipient and the time of the message — notifications cannot work otherwise. Who is behind these identifiers, the server does not know: Tacq does not collect real names, phone numbers or email addresses. A new device of yours starts receiving messages only after you confirm it on your main device, and a device you unlink erases everything stored on it as soon as it goes online.
What you control
Every contact is an isolated session. Rename contacts locally, selectively block a specific person’s ways to reach you (chat, audio or video calls), or block the session in one tap to sever the connection. And restore it later if you change your mind. A blocked contact can’t call you back “from another number”.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account; associated data is removed from the server. There is no “forgot password”: with no phone or email there is nothing to reset it through. Write down a recovery phrase in advance — it is the only way back to your account if you forget the password or lose your device.
