QR stickers on your things
A QR sticker is a durable label with a QR code that you attach to an item (car, pet, keys, luggage, bike). Whoever finds the item — or wants to reach you about it — scans the code and lands in an anonymous chat with you, without installing the app and without either side revealing a phone number, name or address.
Two main scenarios:
- Lost & found. A tag on a pet’s collar, keys or a suitcase — the finder messages the owner.
- Anti-parking. A sticker on a windshield: “Did I box you in? Scan — I’ll reply or come down.” You stay reachable without a number on the glass.
Creating a sticker
- Menu → QR Stickers → Create sticker.
- Pick the item type (car / pet / keys / luggage / bike / generic) — it sets the icon and a default greeting.
- Set a label — only you see it, to tell your stickers apart (“My car”, “Rex’s collar”).
- Optionally edit the greeting to the finder — the text the scanner will see.
- Save. The sticker is ready.
Printing
Open the sticker → Print:
- Single sticker — one large label.
- A4 sheet — eight identical stickers to keep in reserve (for keys, a backpack, an umbrella).
The QR is printed with extra resistance to dirt and wear. Tip: laminate the sticker or cover it with clear tape to protect it from water. The printed sticker shows your greeting and the Tacq logo.
Keep the printed greeting in one language. Mixing, say, English and Hebrew in one text prints poorly — the languages run in different directions.
You can also Show QR on screen (for a quick scan from another phone) or Share the link.
What the finder sees
After scanning, the person lands on a page with a large icon of the item type (car, pet, keys…) at the top and your greeting below. They can message or call you right away, as a guest, with no sign-up. Their number and details stay private from you, and yours from them. To receive replies even after closing the tab, they’re invited to save their account.
Your chats per sticker
Every new finder is a separate chat (finders never see each other). A new message on a sticker reaches you like any chat (with a notification) and is also grouped under QR Stickers → open the sticker → Sticker chats.
Managing a sticker
In the sticker menu (three dots):
- Pause / Resume — temporarily stop accepting new finders (e.g., car in the garage). Existing chats stay.
- Reissue — if the QR is compromised (photographed, spammed) or the item is sold: the old code stops working and a new one is generated — print and replace the label.
- Delete — remove the sticker.
- Emergency mode — quickly restrict a shared-around QR: Text only mutes calls for everyone on the sticker; Freeze pauses it.
- Block a chat with one person without touching the sticker — new finders can still message you.
Privacy
Neither you nor the finder reveals a phone number, email, name or address. The app does not share your location. If a finder wants to send where they left the item, that is their deliberate action, not automatic.
