Message actions

Everything you can do with a message lives in one menu. You open it on the message itself — yours or your contact’s.

Opening the menu

On a phone or tablet — press and hold the message for about a second.

On a computer (Windows, web) — right-click the message. Long-pressing with the left button works too, but right-click is what people expect.

The menu opens from the bottom of the screen. Which items appear depends on whose message it is and what it contains: text, a photo or a file.

What is inside

Reply. A quote of the original message appears above the input field, and your answer stays attached to it. Useful when the conversation has moved on.

Copy. Puts the message text into the clipboard. Available for your contact’s messages too.

Save to device. Appears for photos, videos and files — stores the attachment on your device.

Edit. Your own text messages only. An edited message is marked as edited, so your contact does not think they misread it.

Delete. Your own messages only, with a confirmation. The message disappears for both sides.

Report. For someone else’s message that breaks the rules or the law. The report goes to the Tacq team together with the snapshot of the conversation needed to review it.

What is missing, and why

There is no forwarding to another chat yet. Copy the text and paste it into the other conversation.

You cannot edit someone else’s message — that is a technical restriction, not a setting: the server rejects such edits.

If the menu does not open

Make sure you are pressing the message bubble itself, not the empty space next to it. In a conversation that is closed (blocked, or messages turned off by your contact) the menu still opens — copying and reporting always work.
